Nanyang Concert Band, formerly known as Nanyang Military Band, began as a 30-member brass band in 1969, and has since grown into a 90–member Concert Band.
Over the years, the band has been led by many well-known conductors in Singapore, such as Mrs. Jessie Ho-Tan, Mr. Lee Seck Chiang and Ms. Samantha Chong. NYCB takes part regularly in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation, and under the baton of our own teacher, Dr Matthew Lim, attained the Distinction awards in 2013, 2015 and 2017. The band performs regularly in school events and also holds its own concert biennially. Since late 2017, the band has been led by Mr Louis Yeo. The band achieved a Distinction in the SYF 2023 and the Gold Award at the Singapore International Band Festival 2024.
